English Training - Learn and Help

English Language Training

Improve your English on a farm or station!
This package offers you the chance to live on a farm whilst learning English. During the day you will be talking with the farmer, or his wife, working with them or visiting friends or local places of interest. All the time you will be talking English - there will be no other person of your nationality there. It is a complete immersion in the English Language and it it clear that students learn more in four weeks on the farm than they do in four months in the city colleges in Sydney, Darwin, Perth or Melbourne.

No visit to Australia is complete without the experience of bush or outback life.
Things you may also learn on the farm are: how to ride a horse, drive a tractor, ride an agricultural motorbike, help with fencing, use a chain saw and work with cattle in the yards. Other things you may do, depending on the farm chosen and the time of year are:

  • hay making - fishing - driving cattle - scrub clearing - spotlighting
  • cattle drafting - rock climbing - fossicking - gold panning
  • whale watching - bush trekking - animal feeding - camp fire nights
  • barbecues - 4WD bush driving - bush dance - bird watching
  • local craft exhibitions - gold mining museum - bush heritage museum
  • surf and sea, on local beaches - swimming in pools and dams

The course is from 3 to 10 weeks. All farms selected have graduate or qualified staff. At one the farmer´s wife speaks five languages, including Japanese - there is a wealth of talent hidden in the Australian bush!

The cost is 1025 Euro for the first week, and thereafter only 495 Euro per week and this includes full board accommodation with the farmer´s family as well as the lessons, which are a mixture of informal and formal lessons and include homework each day.

Those coming direct from overseas are met at Brisbane Airport and have travel arranged to the chosen farm. If possible you should plan to arrive in Brisbane early on a Friday morning. This includes 3 nights accommodation at a beach resort in order to get over jetlag and have some sun, sea and sand before starting the course.

This course is possible on a Tourist visa. Those who have Working Holiday Visas and would like to stay longer in Australia have the opportunity to have PAID WORK on another farm after a short Agricultural Course. The selection of jobs available depends very much on the level of English attained in the weeks of language training. The application form is available by contacting us by fax or Email. We look forward to welcoming you to Australia and to our farms.
